INTRODUCTION

The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) was established on 21st December 1965 by an Act of Parliament, Cap 256 of the Laws of Kenya. It is a member of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and is recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross. Its constitution is based on the Geneva Conventions of 1949, the Additional Protocols of 1977 and the Fundamental Principles of the Movement,

Namely:

  • Humanity
  • Impartiality
  • Neutrality
  • Independence
  • Voluntary Service
  • Unity
  • Universality.
