The Supply Chain Management Department (SCMD) aims at adding value to KRCS by delivering efficient, effective and quality services to the Society. The Department is responsible for managing the Logistics, Warehouse, Procurement and Business Development functions.The SCMD key strategic objective is to improve service delivery to programmes. One of the initiatives towards achieving this will be reviewing the SOPs to be in line with the KRCS structure. The SCMD will implement this in collaboration with the Regions by having trained focal persons at the Regional level who will be responsible for procurement, fleet and warehouse management. The department will focus on improving the procurement turn around time as well as fleet and warehouse sustainability. This will include prequalifying suppliers and operationalising the procurement plan. Fleet effectiveness and efficiency will be improved by developing and improving relationships with customers and service providers. KRCS fleet land cruisers at Daadab Refugee Operations Base Camp. The Supply Chain Department will focus on equipping its Logistics Centre, currently under construction.The ongoing construction of the state of the art logistics center will further enhance the capacity of the supply Chain services. The department will focus on equipping the center which will include equipping the warehouse facilities as well as constructing the department’s offices and providing sufficient parking space for the vehicles. The department will develop a marketing tool for its services and fundraising initiatives.
